Practice Protected Times

The surgery closes one Tuesday per month from 1.00pm-6.30pm for Practice Protected Times. This enables us to attend training and NHS meetings so we can offer an efficient, resilient service to all our patients. NHS 111 or Out of Hours or the walk-in centre can help you on the days we are closed.

Remember you must always dial 999 in a life threatening emergency.

We are closed on following Tuesdays in 2026 from 1pm:

  • Jan 27th
  • Feb 17th
  • Mar 17th
  • April 21st
  • May 19th
  • June 16th
  • July 21st
  • Aug 18th
  • Sept 15th
  • Oct 20th
  • Nov 17th
  • Dec 1st

Practice Protected Time ( PPT )

Please note the surgery will be closed one Tuesday once a month after 1.00pm.

This is usually the 3rd Tuesday of every month, but please see website for updates.

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or Call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

GP Extended Hours

The Extended Access Service has more appointments with clinicians available, making it easier for you to get an appointment at a time that suits you, including evenings and weekends.

How do I book an appointment?

Contact your GP practice in the usual way to request an appointment. If there is no appointment available at your practice, they may offer you an appointment with the GP Extended Access Service, if this is right for you.

If your practice is closed and you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or Call 111. They may also be able to book an appointment for you with the GP Extended Access Service.

Please note that your consent will be required in order for an appointment to be booked for you.
